Child seat: Campus and Hebie get the mount approved on the E:lite frame

IN BRIEF

Campus and the Hebie group have jointly developed a rack platform designed for a child seat, fitted to the new Campus E:lite urban electric bike. According to the press release, the assembly is tested and approved directly on the E:lite frame, and the interface, named Kid’n’Carry, is supplied from the factory. Still according to the press release, the rack remains fully compatible with SNAPIT 2.0 accessories and its construction is modular. Radmarkt states that a B&M rear light is built into it, with the option of adding a brake-light function. The announcement specifies that the assembly will be on show at the Bike&Co-Orderfestival in Kassel, from 4 to 6 September.

A child seat is usually attached to a pannier rack once the bike has been bought. Campus and the Hebie group are announcing a different approach on the new E:lite: according to their press release, the platform that takes the seat is supplied from the factory, and it is the complete system — frame included — that has been tested and approved.

A bike approved at the factory to take a child seat

The announcement, picked up on 25 August by VeloTOTAL and then on 31 August by Radmarkt, describes a « minimalist rack platform for the child seat » developed by Campus with rack specialist Hebie. The interface that makes it possible is called Kid’n’Carry, and it comes fitted from the factory to the brand’s new urban electric bike, the E:lite, which Radmarkt states is powered by a Bosch Hub Line.

What sets the approach apart is written in the press release: « the complete system is tested and approved directly on the Campus E:lite frame ». Going by that wording, approval therefore covers the assembly mounted on the frame — platform and interface included — and not a rack added afterwards. VeloTOTAL and Radmarkt both specify that the compatible child seat is sold separately — through specialist dealers, VeloTOTAL adds.

According to the press release relayed by VeloTOTAL, the rack « remains fully compatible » with the already established SNAPIT 2.0 accessory range — baskets, panniers and mounts therefore clip on without changing ecosystem. The construction is also announced as modular.

A rear light inside the rack

The rack does more than just carry. Radmarkt notes that « a B&M rear light is integrated into the carrier, and can be extended with a brake-light function ». The lighting is therefore housed in the part itself, and the brake function — which shines brighter under braking — is described by that same source as a possible extension. Radmarkt adds that « Hebie Alumee mudguards round off the picture ».

An interface that ZEG has already chosen

The Kid’n’Carry interface is carried by Racktime, a brand of the Hebie group, and it has already found takers in the German industry: in a press release dated 15 July 2026 in Cologne, the ZEG purchasing cooperative stated that « the SNAPIT 2.0 systems and the brand-new KID’n’CARRY interface are at the heart of the collaboration » with Racktime. An interface adopted by a central purchasing body is likely to end up on a great many bikes.

Campus and Hebie will show the platform at the Bike&Co-Orderfestival in Kassel, « from 4 to 6 September ». As of the date of this announcement, neither the price, nor the weight, nor the permissible load of the assembly had been specified in the published documents.
