Velo de Ville opened its 2027 model year on 1 September, under the banner of weight. According to the announcement, the SEB PRO and AEB PRO each shed around two kilos, and the catalogue gains an entirely new platform: the HUBe, an electric city bike quoted from 19 kg, also offered in a compact HUBe XS version with 26-inch wheels. According to the official product page, both get a Bosch Hub Line hub motor and a 360 Wh battery, from €2,299. For its sixtieth anniversary, the manufacturer is also offering an Anniversary Special limited series of the HUBe from €2,499.

The electric city bike carries one stubborn handicap: its weight. Comfortable once under way, it becomes unwieldy as soon as you stop pedalling, on a staircase or on a bike rack. Velo de Ville, a German manufacturer that builds to order, has made weight reduction the thread running through its 2027 model year.
The HUBe, a Velo de Ville electric city bike from 19 kg
The real newcomer in the catalogue is called HUBe. In the French version of its announcement, the manufacturer writes that it is broadening its range “with an Urban Light e-bike that combines comfort, light weight and modern design”, and presents the model as “available from just 19kg”. The official product page states a base weight from 18.5 kg and frames from 45 to 58 cm.
On the mechanical side, the announcement says nothing; the product page, for its part, mentions “a compact, quiet motor integrated into the rear hub”, a Bosch Hub Line, paired with a permanently integrated 360 Wh battery, from €2,299.00.
A second version, the HUBe XS, rounds out the platform “with a smaller frame and 26-inch wheels”. The manufacturer itself names the target: it “is particularly well suited to shorter riders and offers pleasantly agile, reassuring handling”.
Two kilos less on the SEB PRO and the AEB PRO
The two top-of-the-range series follow the same move. “The new SEB PRO sheds around 2kg” and “offers comfortable riding whether on the road, on tracks or on forest trails”, the manufacturer announces. The SEB PRO Cargo, for its part, “is available for the first time in a Wave (open) version”.
“The AEB PRO has also been lightened by around two kilos”, the text continues, crediting it with “battery options up to 800 Wh, and even up to 1,050 Wh with a Range Extender”. According to the official configurator, that ceiling is in no way exclusive: the SEB PRO, KEB CLASSIC, LOADY and SEB PRO CARGO reach it too. The same configurator places the AEB PRO in the Allround category, alongside the AEB PURE, AEB CLASSIC and AEB CLASSIC XS.
On the drive system, the announcement stays general and names no motor: “different Bosch drive systems allow a personalised set-up for everyday riding and long tours”. Finally, a word of caution about those two kilos: the announcement gives a difference from the previous model, without publishing a total weight.
An anniversary series from 2,499 euros
The brand is setting aside a particular price for its sixtieth anniversary: “the HUBe and HUBe XS models are also available in a limited edition”, the announcement states, referring to an “attractive special price from 2,499 euros”. According to the official configurator, that is €200 more than the standard HUBe, listed from €2,299: the anniversary series is paid for, it does not serve as an entry point.
The PURE range, finally, benefits according to the announcement from “redesigned frames, which allow a made-to-measure fit according to each rider’s height, riding style and personal needs”.
