The Lundi 27 is the city bike of French brand Moustache, a very open-frame model that the manufacturer describes as “the icon of the elegant and practical urban e-bike”. It has just been updated, and the change happens mostly where you cannot see it: in the rear wheel.
The Lundi 27 gets a Bosch motor in the rear wheel
The new version adopts the Bosch Hub Line, which the manufacturer’s spec sheet details as “Bosch, Hub Line BDU30, Smart System, 45 Nm”. Moustache writes on its product page that its “new Bosch Hub Line motor, hidden in the rear wheel, offers immediate and silent assistance”. According to British website road.cc, the Hub Line is the first hub motor designed by Bosch.
The energy comes from a 360 Wh PowerTube battery integrated into the frame, which the brand puts at 2.1 kg and calls “easy to remove for charging wherever you want”. Moustache says, in figures relayed by road.cc, that this battery lasts more than four hours, or 70 km of typical use.
Three versions, from €2,399
The French catalogue announces the Lundi 27 as “Available in 3 version(s)”. Two of them share the same starting price, €2,399: a chain version and a belt version. Moustache explains that choice on its product page — the belt is aimed at riders looking for “maximum simplicity in use, less dirt, and maintenance”. The third, the Limited Edition, starts at €2,899. Moustache presents it as “Produced in only 270 numbered units”, with an exclusive colour and a numbered plate, and states that it “comes standard with the main accessories available on the Lundi 27: Bosch ConnectModule with GPS tracking, SmartphoneGrip holder, front rack with 80 lux remote lighting, U-lock holder, and rear wheel protection”.
On weight, Moustache’s official spec sheets give, in size M, 24.2 kg for the chain version fitted with a Shimano Cues 9-speed drivetrain and 23.8 kg for the single-speed Gates belt version. Moustache claims a saving of 3.5 kg over the previous models.
The equipment of the Moustache city bike
The rest is classic urban equipment, but comprehensive: the brand lists an “Integrated ABUS frame lock”, “powerful lighting to see and be seen” and a total load of “up to 150 kg of load to carry your belongings with confidence”. A Bosch ConnectModule is offered as an option on the chain and belt versions, and fitted as standard on the Limited Edition; according to the product page, it provides GPS that locates the bike in real time and triggers an audible alert in the event of theft.
