The Fiido Nomads Pro answers a very practical question: how do you tour for several days on an electric bike without hunting for a power socket at every stop? The answer comes down to a single spec: three 417.6 Wh batteries that add up to cover 224 km, according to the manufacturer.
Three batteries, 224 km: range as the main selling point
The Nomads Pro is built around a modular battery system: a 417.6 Wh main battery, plus two optional extra batteries of the same size. Each one delivers 74.85 km of range according to Fiido’s spec sheet. In its maximum configuration, the total reaches 224.55 km — the 225 km often quoted in the press is a rounded figure.
In practice, real-world range depends on the terrain, the rider’s weight and the load carried, and the level of assistance selected. But even at 60% of the manufacturer’s figures, the triple-battery Nomads Pro comfortably covers two days of touring without recharging — which changes the equation for bike travel.
A build that matches the touring brief
The Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain is a good call: it is a recent Shimano groupset, designed for e-bikes and heavy-use bikes, with broad compatibility. The torque sensor (rather than a cadence sensor) makes the assistance feel more natural on climbs — a plus for loaded touring. The 120 mm suspension fork — brand not specified by Fiido — and the 29 × 2.1″ CST tyres round out a versatile profile, at ease on gravel tracks as well as on slightly broken tarmac.
The 4-piston hydraulic brakes (HDM-5 calipers) provide the stopping power needed for a 26.2 kg bike that can take a 120 kg payload. The IP54 rating protects against rain and splashes — useful on tour, but not enough for immersion.
€1,999 for one battery, €2,699 for three
The €1,999 entry price covers the bike with one battery, that is 74.85 km of range. The triple-battery version is offered at €2,699. For comparison, adding the two extension batteries works out at €700, a reasonable rate if the touring plan is a serious one. Fiido quotes this price in euros on its European site for the one-battery configuration; the triple-battery price has yet to be officially confirmed in euros (the US spec sheet lists $2,699).
The Nomads Pro arrives in an emerging niche: the modular electric touring bike. Brands such as Riese & Müller (Delite), Kalkhoff and Bulls offer dual-battery bikes at appreciably higher prices. Fiido is betting on affordability — with the usual questions about its after-sales network and long-term durability.
