A light that wraps around. Startup Loop unveiled its Loop Light at Eurobike 2026 in Frankfurt: a light unit whose flexible body attaches by wrapping around the handlebar, with no screws or straps, fitting sections from 22.2 to 35 millimetres — which covers most handlebars on the market, from allroad to mountain bikes by way of city bikes.
Patented and tool-free
The flexible-body principle is patented, according to the brand. It attaches through elastic deformation of the body around the tube: you pinch, you wrap, it holds. Removing the light to charge or store it takes a few seconds. This type of mounting, common on sensors and monitoring accessories, is rarer on lights — most still rely on screwed brackets or velcro systems. Loop claims enough vibration resistance to stay put, including off-road.
Ten hours of run time, USB-C charging
The Loop Light offers a white light mode for the front and red for the rear — steady or flashing in both cases. Claimed run time is 10 hours, according to the brand. Charging is via USB-C, a connector that is now all but standard on modern bike accessories. The brand has not yet specified light output in lux or lumens.
€50 for an October delivery
Loop announces a price of 50 euros and an on-sale date of October 2026 — production follows Eurobike, a common timeline for accessories shown at the fair. At this stage, the brand does not say whether distribution will be direct or through retailers. Loop’s official website did not yet detail these arrangements at the time of writing.
It remains to be seen whether the mount holds up over time on wide carbon handlebars — the smooth surface may be less accommodating than rough aluminium. But the basic idea is sound: doing away with the screwed bracket, the usual source of scratches on carbon handlebars.
