The Avinox motor made its name under wildly expensive carbon electric mountain bikes. Megamo is making it more affordable with the Ryal, an aluminium-framed electric enduro. Enough to put one of the most sought-after motors of the moment within reach of a lot more riders.

For the past year, the Avinox motor has been everywhere — or very nearly. Generous torque, polished electronics: it has won over a long list of brands, but mostly on five-figure carbon electric mountain bikes. Megamo is going the other way with the Ryal, and an aluminium frame that changes everything… on the price tag.
The same motor, a cheaper frame
The Ryal shares the essentials with the brand’s carbon model: the Avinox motor, in its M2 and M2S versions, the latter climbing to 150 Nm of torque and 1,500 watts of peak power. What changes is the frame: aluminium instead of carbon. Heavier, no doubt, but far cheaper to produce — and that is the whole point of the exercise.
The maths is obvious from the price list. The entry ticket drops to €3,999, where bikes fitted with the same motor often sail well past €6,000 or €7,000. Our colleagues at BikeRadar go as far as to suggest that the Ryal 05 could be the cheapest Avinox M2S eMTB on the market, with around £1,000 between it and the competition.
An enduro bike built to be ridden often
On the chassis side, the Ryal ticks the boxes of a proper enduro bike: 160 mm of travel front and rear, to soak up broken ground without flinching. The 800 Wh battery is removable — a detail that counts day to day, whether to charge indoors or head back out with a second pack. The bike comes in four sizes, from S to XL, and in three colours: black, red or white.
Four builds, from the simplest to full AXS
The range stretches across four builds. The Ryal 10 opens proceedings at €3,999, followed by the Ryal 08 at €4,499 and the Ryal 05 at €5,499. At the very top, the Ryal 03 AXS tops out at €6,999, with its wireless drivetrain. The bikes are announced as available, with no wait.
Aluminium will not set the gram counters dreaming. But by bringing one of the most talked-about motors of the moment under the €4,000 mark, Megamo is speaking to riders who want to ride a lot, rather than lift their bike with one hand.
