IN BRIEF
3T is updating its Racemax WPNT race gravel bike, which becomes the Racemax+ WPNT: the frame, fork and riding position change, while the silhouette stays. Tyre clearance goes up to 51 mm measured with a single chainring, 48 mm with a double. The chainstays lengthen to 425 mm, the fork offset increases, and both stack and reach grow by 3 mm. The brand’s European website lists three builds, from €3,640 with Shimano GRX 12-speed to €5,213 with SRAM Rival AXS and 3T Discus 40|30 wheels.

The “+” on the Racemax is more than a marketing suffix: 3T presents it as a substantial update of the original design, affecting the frame, the fork and the geometry. The specifications of the three builds have been online on the brand’s European website since 4 November.
A Racemax+ WPNT that takes 51 mm tyres
To state its tyre clearances, 3T prefers measurements to the width printed on the sidewall. The brand points out that a tyre marked 45 mm can measure something else depending on the rim and pressure, so it designs its frames around two dimensions taken with the tyre mounted and inflated. The first, WAM, is the tyre’s actual width, measured where it is widest, 3T specifies. The second, RAM, is the distance from the centre of the axle to the top of the tyre.
By these measures, the Racemax+ WPNT accepts up to 51 mm in width and 363 mm in radius with a single chainring, and 48 mm with a double. 3T puts the optimal aerodynamic range between 38 and 48 mm, and sets a minimum of 36 mm in width for 350 mm in radius.
Longer chainstays for stability
Compared with the previous Racemax WPNT, the chainstays grow to 425 mm and the fork offset increases. 3T is seeking more stability at high speed. The head angle, for its part, is steeper, so that the bike responds predictably when choosing a line through a corner.
The riding position changes too: from S to XXL, stack grows by 3 mm and reach by 3 mm. The range comprises six sizes, from XS to XXL. The frame is made of unidirectional pre-preg carbon, with a layup that combines high-modulus and high-strength fibres.
Three builds, from €3,640 to €5,213
The entry build, GRX 1X12, pairs Shimano GRX ST-RX610 12-speed shifters, a GRX RD-RX822 derailleur, a 40-tooth FC-RX610 crankset and a Deore 10-51 cassette. It rolls on Fulcrum Lite GR 700c wheels and is listed at €3,640.
The SRAM Rival AXS E1 build, with an XPLR 10-46 cassette and the same Fulcrum wheels, costs €4,524. The third uses the same drivetrain with 3T Discus 40|30 wheels, for €5,213. The colours are Foresta Green, Quarzo Grey and Vela Beige.
