Euro-Cycles buys Spanish distributor Deportica for €650,000

IN BRIEF

Tunisian bicycle manufacturer Euro-Cycles has completed the purchase of all the shares in Deportica, a cycle distribution company based in Spain, for €650,000. The contract was signed on 28 July 2026 and the transfer of ownership took place in September. Deportica is expected to add €1.5 million to the group’s annual turnover, with growth forecast at more than 6% a year. Euro-Cycles aims to strengthen its international presence and develop its distribution channels.

The acquisition comes after a difficult year. Euro-Cycles closed 2025 with turnover of 99.5 million Tunisian dinars, down 16.85% on the 119.6 million of 2024, and the whole of this decline came from exports. Net profit fell from 10.4 to 8.4 million dinars.

Euro-Cycles buys itself a distributor in Spain

Founded in 1993, Euro-Cycles builds bicycles in the Kalaâ Kébira industrial zone, near Sousse. With Deportica, it gains a distributor already established in Spain. The company announced the deal to its shareholders and the public in a press release: the operation is part of its strategy of international development and strengthening its commercial integration.

€650,000 for €1.5 million in turnover

The price, €650,000, represents around 2.18 million dinars. In return, Deportica is expected to contribute €1.5 million a year to the group’s revenue, a figure the business plan sees growing by more than 6% a year. Euro-Cycles’ press release also states that it wants to improve proximity with its customers and commercial partners.

A manufacturer focused on exports

Exports are at the heart of Euro-Cycles’ model. In 2013, when it listed on the Tunis Stock Exchange, the company made bicycles exclusively for export and presented itself as the only Tunisian company in its sector certified to European standards and approved for the sale of bicycles; it then employed 284 people. It is exports that fell in 2025.
