IN BRIEF
Riese & Müller is unveiling its 2027 range at its first-ever Campus Days, held from 24 to 26 June 2026 in Mühltal, Germany. Two new models lead the way: the Veya, an electric bike claimed to weigh under 20 kg and extensively configurable, and the Multicharger4, a compact “midtail” cargo bike designed for families and hauling. The rest of the range evolves in small steps: colours, motors, drivetrains and connectivity. The manufacturer has released neither prices nor availability dates.

Under 20 kilos on the scales: for Riese & Müller, the figure is anything but incidental. The German manufacturer, better known for its sturdy, heavily equipped electric bikes, is putting its 2027 season under the sign of light weight with a new model, the Veya. Alongside it, a second newcomer plays the opposite tune: the Multicharger4, a compact cargo bike built to carry children and shopping. Both were shown to the press ahead of the brand’s first Campus Days, from 24 to 26 June 2026 in Mühltal, near Darmstadt.
The Veya, light and configurable to order
The Veya is claimed to weigh under 20 kg, a restrained figure for an electric bike of this versatility. The brand offers it in two silhouettes: a diamond frame with a sporty temperament, or a low step-through frame that is easier to get on and off. The rest is chosen to order — motor, battery, drivetrain. Enough to target both the urban commute and longer rides, where until now two different bikes were often needed.
According to Riese & Müller, it is precisely this configuration flexibility that defines the model: a light frame, the brand’s in-house comfort and a range of options broad enough to cover daily use as well as day trips. It remains to be seen what each version will actually weigh once equipped — the manufacturer quotes a weight “under 20 kg” without detailing the configurations.

The Multicharger4, a midtail built for 200 kilos
The second newcomer introduces a completely redesigned “midtail” platform — a format halfway between a conventional bike and a longtail, shorter than a stretched cargo bike but able to carry a genuine load. Riese & Müller quotes a maximum total weight of 200 kg, including up to 80 kg on the extended rack: enough to carry one or two children, the weekly shopping or a load of luggage.
An “Equipment kit” makes it possible to adapt the bike to different uses. And for long distances, an optional DualBattery takes capacity to 1,600 Wh — a substantial energy reserve, clearly aimed at range on longer journeys. The brand promises “sporty and agile” handling despite the size; on that point, the first ride tests will have to settle the matter.

The rest of the range evolves in small steps
Beyond these two new models, Riese & Müller is updating several series for 2027: new colours, new model and equipment versions, additional motor and drivetrain options. The manufacturer also mentions new motor performance, developments on the cargo bike side and fresh solutions for the cockpit and connectivity. Nothing specific has emerged on these points: the brand is saving the details for its Campus Days.
One major unknown remains when it comes to reaching for the credit card: neither prices nor availability dates have been disclosed. For a brand positioned at the premium end, those are precisely the two figures that will tell whether the Veya and the Multicharger4 find an audience beyond the circle of insiders.
