IN BRIEF

MET is unveiling the Trenta 2, a road helmet that opens up more space between the head and the shell to improve airflow. It keeps 24 vents, like the Trenta 3K Carbon, but without the latter’s internal carbon structure (3K Airframe); its polycarbonate shell is moulded onto the EPS. Protection relies on Mips Air Node Pro, dual-density EPS and extended rear coverage. The official product page lists it at €300, against €400 for the 3K Carbon.

The official product page for the Trenta 3K Carbon lists €400. The MET Trenta 2 keeps the same number of vents for €100 less.

The MET Trenta 2 gives the air more room

The core idea of the Trenta 2 lies inside the helmet. MET has enlarged the space between the head and the shell so that air finds a more direct path, without adding weight or compromising protection, the brand says. The 24 vents are linked by internal channels that MET describes as optimised.

The brand presents this model as a rethink of its own design:

“The Trenta 2 has given us the chance to revisit a design we know inside out, challenge some of our own assumptions and see where we can take it next.”

Polycarbonate shell and Mips Air Node Pro

The difference from the Trenta 3K Carbon lies in the latter’s internal carbon structure (3K Airframe) and its Mips Air Node: the Trenta 2 has a polycarbonate shell moulded directly onto the EPS. On the protection side, MET combines dual-density EPS, extended coverage at the rear and Mips Air Node Pro, a very lightweight system that redirects rotational motion during an impact.

The helmet is available in white, grey, black and red. On the brand’s website, the Trenta 2 is listed at €300 and the Trenta 3K Carbon at €400.
