Coboc is marking its fifteenth anniversary with a special edition of its flagship model. The Heidelberg-based brand has built its reputation on a simple principle: electric bikes whose assistance goes almost unnoticed, with no shouty logo and no bulky motor housing. The Merano XV carries on in that direction, adding a carefully chosen list of exclusive components.
Earl Green and San Rosé: two shades, the same restraint
The Merano XV comes in two versions. The classic diamond frame is finished in a dark green called Earl Green. The trapeze frame, with its more accessible step-over, is offered in San Rosé, a soft pink. In both cases, the silver components deliberately contrast with the frame colour.
The list of exclusive fittings is specific: silver Curana mudguards, a Coboc Urban handlebar, brown leather grips from Velo, a matching saddle, a “15 years” bell by Cobell and a Supernova Mini 2 headlight in silver. Choices consistent with the careful aesthetic Coboc has cultivated since the beginning.
15.6 kilos on the scales
Technically, the Merano XV builds on the familiar Coboc platform. The motor is integrated into the rear wheel hub and is quoted at up to 500 watts of peak power. It is designed to deliver a more natural feeling of assistance. Settings are accessed through the Coboc Electric Drive app.
The claimed weight of 15.6 kilograms remains at the lower end of the segment for an electric bike with integrated assistance. The WTB tyres, relatively wide for an urban bike, soak up uneven tarmac and allow the occasional excursion onto a compacted path.
4,799 euros, for riders who would rather go unnoticed
The Merano XV is sold exclusively through Coboc’s authorised dealers, at 4,799 euros. The brand is not saying how many units will be built. At that price, the Merano XV is aimed at a buyer looking for a discreet, light and well-finished electric bike — without needing to show it off.
