Canyon had never offered a carbon urban e-bike. The Roadlite:ON CF changes that. Thirteen point nine kilos, a motor housed in the rear hub rather than at the bottom bracket, and a belt that does away with all chain maintenance. The bike is available now on canyon.com, at €2,999.
A carbon frame borrowed from the road
The silhouette of the Roadlite:ON CF is directly inspired by that of the Aeroad, Canyon’s aero road bike. The seat tube and the handlebar take on profiled shapes that have nothing to do with the usual urban e-bike look. The top tube has a slight curve, borrowed from Canyon’s cyclocross bike, to make it easier to carry on the shoulder up stairs or on public transport.
The frame includes discreet mounting points for accessories: rack, mudguards, smartphone holder. Front and rear lighting is supplied by Sate; the rear lights have an automatic brake indicator. A kickstand is included.

The motor in the hub, the battery in the tube
The Bosch Hub Line is Bosch’s first hub motor for e-bikes. Ten centimetres in diameter, 2.3 kg, 45 Nm of torque. Bosch designed the system to disengage automatically above 25 km/h, with no parasitic drag. The 360 Wh battery sits in the down tube, feeding a claimed range of 90 km in Eco mode — a manufacturer figure to be taken with the usual caution.
The package is completed by Bosch’s LED Controller, presented by the brand as 65% more compact than the previous generation, with USB-C charging. Four assistance levels (Eco, Tour, Auto, Turbo) can be set via the Bosch eBike Flow app.

One gear, no chain
The single-speed Gates carbon belt drivetrain is the other bold choice on the Roadlite:ON CF. No derailleurs, no lubricant, no cable adjustment. On an e-bike ridden daily in the rain, that is a promise of reliability that is hard to argue with — provided you accept the lack of a gear for steep climbs.
The bike received the Red Dot Best of the Best 2026, the highest distinction of this industrial design award. “We exceeded high standards,” says Sebastian Wegerle, head of product development for Urban & Recreation at Canyon. Two colours at launch: white and black. Order exclusively on canyon.com.
