IN BRIEF
Specialized is topping its Diverge 4 gravel range with an S-Works version. The frame moves to FACT 12r carbon, which the brand says is 200 grams lighter than its 9r carbon frameset, and adopts internal cable routing. The official French spec sheet claims 8.2 kg on the scales and 50 mm of tyre clearance, with a SWAT 4.0 storage compartment in the frame. Fitted with SRAM RED XPLR, Roval Terra CLX III wheels and CeramicSpeed bearings, the bike is listed at €13,999 in France.

The fourth generation of the Diverge, Specialized’s gravel bike, had been launched without its range-topping version. That is now done: the S-Works Diverge 4 was unveiled on 15 September 2026 and has since appeared on the brand’s French store, at €13,999.
The S-Works Diverge 4 moves to FACT 12r carbon, 200 grams under the 9r
The main change is the material. Where the other carbon models in the Diverge 4 range use FACT 9r carbon, the S-Works version moves to 12r. Specialized writes on its product page that the S-Works Diverge 4 “uses our FACT 12r carbon, saving 200 grams compared to our 9r carbon frameset”. The complete bike is claimed at 8.2 kg on the official spec sheet — the brand states on the same page that its weights are “based on production painted frames as pictured” and that “Actual weights will vary based on colorway, frame size, and component variation”. According to that same sheet, consulted on 15 September, the figure refers to a production painted frame, in size 56.
The S-Works Diverge 4 finally tidies its cables away
The S-Works gets the Future Shock 3.3, the suspension cartridge Specialized houses in the head tube, under the stem, with a Smooth Boot bellows. The frameset spec sheet mentions a “Future Shock suspension with integrated cable routing”: the cables leave the handlebar briefly at the stem and enter the headset in front of the steerer fitted with the Future Shock, while the brake hoses run through the headset collar, the compression ring and the top cap — the cartridge itself is not taken into the internal routing system, Cam Piper, Specialized’s road and gravel product manager, told Escape Collective. British site road.cc made it the headline of its 15 September article on the bike, and states that this version of the Future Shock cannot be fitted to the other Diverge 4 models currently in the catalogue.

50 mm of tyre and storage inside the frame
On clearance, Specialized claims “50mm of Tire clearance for traction, confidence, and freedom”. The inner tubes supplied with the bike are given as 700 × 32-50 mm. The frame also carries the fourth version of the SWAT system, the storage hatch the brand builds into the down tube of its bikes.
The rest of the spec is in line with the price: SRAM RED XPLR drivetrain, Roval Terra CLX III wheels, Roval Terra cockpit, headset and bottom bracket from CeramicSpeed. The frame keeps a threaded bottom bracket, a 12 × 142 mm rear thru-axle and a derailleur hanger to the UDH standard.
