Specialized has dressed its Tarmac SL9 in Remco Evenepoel’s colours. According to the official product page, this Tarmac SL9 Remco LTD is an exclusive limited edition, created to support the Belgian rider’s pursuit of victory in the world’s most iconic races.
A Tarmac SL9 Remco numbered to 100 bikes
According to the official product page, each bike is individually numbered, and the series is limited to 100 bikes worldwide. On the French product page, the price is €14,999, flagged as a web exclusive. According to BikeRadar, it is one of the most expensive Tarmac SL9s in the range: on Specialized’s website, the S-Works Tarmac SL9 LTD – Built for Legends edition (199 bikes) is listed at the same price, €14,999.
Also according to BikeRadar, the gold paint refers to Evenepoel’s status as Olympic road race champion. The launch comes shortly after his world time trial title in Montréal, his fourth in a row in the discipline.
Pro-level equipment
On the drivetrain side, Specialized fits the SRAM RED AXS Team-Only groupset, a RED AXS E1 chainset with a Quarq power meter, in 48/35 teeth according to the spec sheet, and a 12-speed 10-36 cassette. The wheels are Roval Rapide Sprint CLX with carbon rims 63 mm deep at the front and 58 mm at the rear, fitted with 30 mm Cotton TLR tyres. The saddle is an S-Works Power with Mirror.
The spec sheet gives a weight of 6.78 kg in size 56. According to the French product page, it is sold in 52, 54, 56 and 58 cm; as of 23 September, all four sizes were shown as unavailable there.
