Pinarello is renewing its X endurance range, the second generation of a family derived from the Dogma X. The frames, with the exception of the X1 which keeps the previous generation’s architecture, now take 40 mm tyres, up from 35 mm, and gain integrated storage in the down tube, reached through a hatch. The redesigned seatpost offers 10 mm of fore-aft flex. The official catalogue lists five levels, from the X1 with mechanical Shimano 105 to the X9 with Dura-Ace Di2; according to the price list published by BikeRadar, the range starts at €3,200 and tops out at €11,000.

Pinarello had set the bar very high with the Dogma X; the Treviso brand is now bringing out a more accessible version of it, the Pinarello X Series, detailed on 3 September by BikeRadar and road.cc.
The Pinarello X Series moves up to 40 mm tyres
Tyre clearance leads the announcement. According to BikeRadar, the new range gains « tyre clearance increased to 40 mm »; road.cc, for its part, describes a second generation that « gains room for tyres up to 40 mm, integrated storage in the down tube and a new seatpost with 10 mm of flex, while keeping the same comfort-oriented geometry ». The two outlets agree, and the lineage is acknowledged: according to BikeRadar, this second generation is « based on the Dogma X ».
Storage, for its part, is new to the family. road.cc writes that Pinarello has added integrated storage space to the X range « for the first time, via an access hatch in the down tube », where a dedicated tool kit sits. Still according to road.cc, it is a feature that has become common on endurance frames, one that Trek has conversely just removed from its Domane.
A seatpost that flexes by 10 mm
Comfort also comes through the seatpost. BikeRadar reports that it « offers 10 mm of flex » and describes an « adaptive » post delivering 10 mm of fore-aft flex. On materials, the same outlet describes three constructions: the X9 and X7 frames « use a high proportion of Torayca T900 fibres, lighter and stiffer than those of the lower-tier models », the X5 and X3 « use T700 carbon, slightly heavier but far more compliant », and the X1, the entry-level model, « uses T600, prioritising compliance ».
The brand’s message fits in a sentence from its president. Fausto Pinarello, quoted by BikeRadar, explains that the range « represents a significant step forward for Pinarello’s endurance collection », and adds: « We wanted to focus on what real-world riders genuinely need on long rides over ordinary surfaces — unmatched comfort and vibration absorption, without giving up any performance. »
Five levels in the catalogue
According to the range charts published by BikeRadar and road.cc, the European line-up consists of the X1 105, the X3 105 Di2, the X5 Shimano 105 Di2, the X7 Shimano Ultegra Di2 and the X9 Shimano Dura-Ace Di2. Prices, however, did not appear on the manufacturer’s pages as of 3 September: according to the price list published by BikeRadar, the entry-level model is announced at €3,200 and the X9 at €11,000.
