Ridley Falcn RS 2.0: Uno-X’s lightweight road bike moves to a 705 g frame

IN BRIEF

Ridley is renewing the Falcn RS, its lightweight road bike, developed with the Uno-X Mobility team. The carbon frame of version 2.0 weighs 705 g, and the brand announces 12% less weight than the previous generation, thanks to a revised layup. Ridley announces a progressive race geometry, and tyre clearance reaches 35 mm. Cycling Weekly reports a 6.2 kg complete bike with SRAM Red AXS and a range from €7,499 to €12,499, with the frameset at €4,999.

Ridley presents the Falcn RS 2.0 as its new lightweight racing platform, combining a 705 g carbon frame, refined aerodynamics and a progressive race geometry. The bike was developed in close collaboration with Uno-X Mobility and tested at WorldTour level.

Ridley Falcn RS 2.0: 12% less weight

Ridley attributes the 12% saving to work on the carbon layup. The brand states, as reported by road.cc, that the stacking of plies inside the frame was completely re-evaluated and optimised, and that areas where several plies overlapped over a large surface were redesigned. Cycling Weekly specifies the weights: 705 g for a size M frame, 347 g for the fork and 100 g for the seatpost.

The geometry changes too. Ridley has lowered the bottom bracket compared with the previous model, and Ridley states that a 76° seat tube angle places the rider more centrally, over the bottom bracket. Tyre clearance rises to 35 mm.

Cycling Weekly details the range. The Shimano Ultegra Di2 build opens the range at €7,499, for 6.8 kg. The SRAM Force AXS version, at €8,499, weighs 6.65 kg and gets Forza Skiron RSR wheels weighing 1,197 g. The top-of-the-range SRAM Red AXS model drops to 6.2 kg for €12,499, with 950 g AX Lightness Ultra SL 45 wheels, 30 mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tyres on TPU inner tubes, a 4ZA Nimbus Pro cockpit and a Selle Italia saddle. Weights are given for size M, without pedals. A €4,999 frameset includes the aero seatpost and the 4ZA Nimbus Pro cockpit.

road.cc notes that Torstein Træen had chosen the Falcn RS for his day in yellow at the Tour de France.
