LEGO is adding a road bike to its Icons range, aimed at adults. The 11380 set brings together 1,015 pieces for a model roughly 60 centimetres long, mounted on a stand. Beyond the display object, it reproduces several real mechanisms: front wheel steering, chain drive and, above all, a freewheel, which lets the rear wheel spin without turning the pedals. Announced at €119.99, it goes on sale on 1 June 2026.
A living-room bike at handlebar height
LEGO’s Icons range targets adults: models made to be displayed, more to be looked at than ridden. After cars, bouquets and musical instruments, it is the road bike’s turn to join it. The 11380 set is the collection’s first full-fledged two-wheeler, and it does not skimp on size: once assembled and placed on its stand, the model measures close to 60 centimetres long, 35 tall and 19 wide.
LEGO has not reproduced a specific brand, but a generic racing bike silhouette: slim frame, drop handlebar, spoked wheels. The company even developed new rubber tyres and dedicated rims for the occasion, a sign that the project was designed for the demanding eyes of cyclists as much as for those of brick enthusiasts.
A freewheel that changes everything
This is the detail that sets the set apart from a simple scale model. The model includes a genuine freewheel: turning the chainset drives the chain, which drives the rear wheel, but that wheel can also keep spinning on its own, without forcing the pedals. Exactly like a real bike freewheeling downhill. LEGO achieves this with Technic parts hidden inside the rear hub.
The rest follows the same logic of functional realism. The front wheel steers from the handlebar, the silver chain drive links the chainset to the rear wheel, and the model features derailleurs, brake calipers, clipless pedals and a rear light. A removable bottle cage, complete with its bottle, rounds out the package. The display stand lifts the rear wheel clear of the ground, so it can be spun freely to watch the mechanism in motion.
For adults, and for the coffee table
Rated 18 and over, the set is clearly aimed at enthusiasts who want an object to display on a desk or a shelf rather than a toy. LEGO owns that positioning, presenting it as a decorative piece for the home or the office. The price matches that ambition: €119.99.
Available to pre-order, the LEGO road bike reaches shelves on 1 June 2026, through the official store and authorised retailers. A way to give cyclists a second bike, the one that never punctures.
