IN BRIEF
The CycleExpo Amsterdam trade show will go ahead: on 2 October the organiser announced its confirmation for October 2027, the day after the deadline the organisers had set themselves to decide between go and no go. Organised by NieuwsFiets Media & Events, it will be held from 6 to 8 October 2027 at EXPO Greater Amsterdam, in Vijfhuizen, 16 km from Schiphol airport. It targets OEM suppliers to the bicycle industry, with turnkey stands only and free entry for registered visitors.
A new bicycle trade show is coming to the Netherlands. CycleExpo Amsterdam opened registrations in June, giving itself until 1 October 2026 to decide whether it would actually take place. On 2 October, the organiser NieuwsFiets Media & Events itself announced a “definitive GO” for the 2027 edition: nearly fifty exhibitors had already booked at the time of the decision, more than a third of the show floor. Rick Hackmann admits: “We had set ourselves the goal of breaking even by this date, but we have not quite reached that point yet. Fortunately, the financial gap is so easy to bridge that we confidently chose a GO.”
CycleExpo Amsterdam, three days near Schiphol
The show will be held from 6 to 8 October 2027 at EXPO Greater Amsterdam, in Vijfhuizen, 16 km from Schiphol airport. It is organised by NieuwsFiets Media & Events, which already runs the B2B FESTIVAL, a local trade show, and is this time launching an international event.
A show dedicated to the OEM market
The organiser is targeting a specific audience: the OEM market, meaning the suppliers of parts and equipment to bicycle manufacturers. It wants to make CycleExpo an alternative OEM meeting point for the whole bicycle industry. The official website addresses buyers, product managers, designers, suppliers and manufacturers from the international bicycle industry. For them, entry is free, subject to prior registration.
Turnkey stands to keep costs down
The official website states that CycleExpo will offer turnkey stands only, a choice that avoids the high cost of custom-built stands. The June announcement planned 145 of them, of 12, 18, 24 and 30 m². The official website sums up the promise: in practice, exhibitors mainly have to bring their products and set them up on the stand.
