IN BRIEF

On 22 September 2026, the Tours commercial court approved Starway’s recovery plan for a period of 9 years. This continuation plan ends the court-supervised recovery proceedings (redressement judiciaire) opened on 16 December 2025. Starway, a French designer of electric-assist bikes based in Tours, therefore continues trading with its “Le vélo Facile” range. The brand says it is preparing a new 2027 range.

Starway is emerging from the court-supervised recovery proceedings opened in December 2025. The Tours-based electric bike maker has secured approval of its continuation plan, which allows it to continue trading.

Starway: a 9-year continuation plan

According to the notice published in the BODACC (France’s official bulletin of civil and commercial announcements), the Tours commercial court approved the recovery plan in a ruling dated 22 September 2026. Starway SAS is appointed to carry out the plan, whose duration is set at 9 years. The court appointed Selàrl MJ Corp, with Maître Bertrand Boudevin, as plan implementation supervisor, and ended the mandate of the court-appointed administrator, Selàrl Trajectoire.

In its press release, Starway states that this decision ends the court-supervised recovery proceedings opened on 16 December 2025. According to the company, it validates the measures taken during the proceedings and allows the brand to continue its business and its development projects.

Proceedings opened in late 2025

The legal notices trace the proceedings. The Tours commercial court had opened the recovery proceedings on 16 December 2025, setting the date of cessation of payments at 1 November 2025. A ruling of 19 May 2026 then extended the observation period by six months from 16 June, i.e. until 16 December 2026. The plan was therefore adopted before the end of that period.

A 2027 range in preparation

Starway presents itself as a French designer of electric-assist bikes, with its “Le vélo Facile” range. Its catalogue includes, for example, the Touring GT, listed at €2,190 including VAT on the brand’s website and fitted with the company’s own Equi Motion automatic assistance. The company says it is preparing to unveil a new 2027 range, which is due to expand this line-up soon. It thanks its customers, suppliers and partners for their support during this period.
