Continental and Tadej Pogačar have put their names to a tyre together. Announced in Hanover on 20 October, this Collector’s Edition is based on the Grand Prix 5000 S TR, which the brand presents as its benchmark road tyre, dressed in the colours of Tadej Pogačar, multiple world champion and Tour de France winner.

The tyre, in a 30-622 size, carries a dedicated Pogi logo and hundreds of Tadej Pogačar micro-logos discreetly worked into the “Grand Prix 5000 S TR” lettering. The press release sets out its specifications: 300 g, BlackChili compound, Vectran Breaker protection, Active Comfort and Lazer Grip technologies, and compatibility with hookless rims. The colourway is black on black.

Pogi, the road safety mascot
Each box contains a “Pogi” figurine, which the press release presents as a collectible rather than a toy. Pogi is the character from Continental’s “Share the Road” campaign, created to promote road safety and mutual respect. The hero of a series of animated stories, he carries a simple message: “the roads belong to everyone”. The press release states that the partnership pairs performance with a mission: promoting road safety, mutual respect and harmonious coexistence on the road.
“The trust placed in us by world-class athletes like Tadej is both an honor and an incentive,” says Hannah Ferle, Road Product Manager at Continental Tires.
The press release gives neither a price nor a production run. BikeRadar gives a price of €109.95 per tyre, the same retail price shown by a French retailer.
