IN BRIEF
Industry Nine launched the Hush on 18 August, a Trail/XC carbon rim designed specifically for the 32-inch format. The Asheville manufacturer is aiming it first at framebuilders and OEM partners who, according to its press release, are bringing 32-inch platforms to market. The rim is claimed at 442 grams for 30 mm internal width and 26 mm depth, and is built with 24 spokes in a 2:1 pattern on a SOLiX M hub with 605 points of engagement. According to the press release, the pair is set at 2,199 US dollars; the brand’s European shop, for its part, lists €1,957.11 for the pair and €630 for the rim sold on its own. According to the press release, standard builds are now available for brands and manufacturers developing 32-inch Trail and XC bikes, and the Hush is due to be shown to the public at the MADE Bike Show in Portland, from 21 to 23 August.

The 32-inch wheel is no longer a prototype curiosity. Industry Nine announced the Hush on 18 August, a carbon rim designed from the outset for this format, and the Asheville manufacturer is offering it, according to its press release, to framebuilders and OEM partners who are bringing 32-inch platforms to market — with retailers named as well.
The Industry Nine Hush, a rim drawn for the 32-inch format
Industry Nine stresses one point: according to its press release, the Hush is a rim “designed specifically for 32-inch wheels”, and not a part carried over from the 29. It is claimed at 442 grams, for 30 mm internal width and 26 mm depth. The ERD is given as 652 mm and the offset as zero.
The standard build uses 24 spokes in a 2:1 pattern, the layout that puts two thirds of the spokes on one side of the wheel to balance tensions, with the brand’s own System spokes. At the hubs, the brand fits its SOLiX M and its 605 points of engagement, meaning 0.59 degrees of dead travel before pedalling picks up again — Industry Nine’s long-standing argument. The axle spacings are the current mountain bike standards, 15 × 110 mm at the front and 12 × 148 mm at the rear.

A rim aimed first at framebuilders and OEM partners
The choice to target manufacturers rather than the general public says a lot about the state of the format. Industry Nine describes its intended customers as framebuilders and OEM partners “bringing 32-inch platforms to market”.
On pricing, the press release sets the pair at 2,199 US dollars, and 2,399 Canadian dollars. The brand’s European shop, for its part, lists €1,957.11 for the built pair and €630 for the rim alone — an online retail price, not repeated in the official announcement. Standard builds are given as available, and the Hush is due to be shown to the public at the MADE Bike Show in Portland, from 21 to 23 August.
