32-inch wheels gain another tyre. Rene Herse is announcing the Indiana Pass, a 32 x 2.2-inch semi-slick. Velo points out that Jan Heine, the brand’s boss, had until now been an outspoken opponent of this wheel size.
The Indiana Pass, a 32-inch Rene Herse semi-slick
The new tyre takes the tread and casings of the 700 x 48 Oracle Ridge. bikepacking.com describes it as combining the brand’s typical round knobs with a smooth, uniform tread strip in the centre. At 55 mm, the brand claims it corners like much wider tyres.

Four casings, from the most supple to the toughest
The Indiana Pass comes in four casings. The Standard combines comfort and speed at an affordable price. The brand presents the Extralight as its “most supple” casing, designed for speed. The Endurance uses the same ultra-fine threads as the Extralight with extra protection against punctures and sidewall cuts. Finally, the Endurance Plus is aimed at high speeds on sharp gravel and jagged rocks.
bikepacking.com states that the tyres are tubeless-ready, for rims with 17 to 30 mm internal width, and gives prices of between $87 and $115 depending on the casing. As of 21 October, Rene Herse’s announcement, viewed from France, gave no pricing. Deliveries will begin in April 2027.
A name taken from the Tour Divide

The brand says it was inspired by Meaghan Hackinen’s victory in the 2026 Tour Divide. The tyre is named after Indiana Pass, an 11,958-foot pass and the highest point of this 4,350 km route, which the rider completed in just over 14 days.
