IN BRIEF
Pivot announces that twelve of its electric mountain bikes were stolen last weekend, during its UK test tour. The brand had to cancel the last planned test days, including the Pedal-a-Bike-Away and Ride Innerleithen demo weekends. It is asking riders to report any suspicious Pivot bike put up for sale. A Pivot representative states that the police have the list of serial numbers, and that the bikes are flagged as stolen in Bosch’s system.
A bad end to Pivot’s tour across the Channel. On the Pivot Cycles EU Instagram page, picked up by the American website Singletracks, the brand writes: “Our UK demo fleet has been stolen. This past weekend, 12 Pivot e-bikes were stolen during our UK Test Tour.”
Pivot cancels the end of its demo tour
Without its test bikes, the brand is calling its tour to a halt:
“This also means we’ve had to cancel the remaining test days, including the demo weekends at @pedalabikeaway and @rideinnerleithen. We know many of you were looking forward to riding with us, and we’re sorry for the disappointment and the short notice.”

Singletracks notes that the post specifies neither how the bikes were stolen nor where they were. Singletracks, which places the two cancelled dates in Wales and Scotland, assumes the theft took place in one of those regions.
Bikes flagged with Bosch
Pivot is asking riders to report any suspicious Pivot bike offered for sale in the coming days. In a comment under the post, a representative of the brand states that the police have the full list of serial numbers, and that the bikes have been flagged as stolen in Bosch’s system: “it won’t be easy to sell them.”
The bill is a heavy one: Singletracks points out that Pivot’s electric mountain bikes, such as the Shuttle LT, start at around $9,000 in the United States, and puts the value of the stolen bikes at well over $100,000.
