IN BRIEF
Assos is refreshing its rain jackets for autumn-winter with two models from its S11 generation. The Mille GTS Sturmprinz, priced at €490 on the brand’s French store, revives a historic name and relies on a three-layer ATLANTIS membrane with a claimed breathability of 42,900 g/m²/24h. The Equipe R Hydra, a women’s jacket sold at €330, is built on a three-layer HYDRA softshell claimed at 50,900 g/m²/24h, and it packs into a pocket. Both have taped seams and, according to Assos, PFAS-free materials.

For its autumn-winter collection, Assos is bringing back a name regulars will know: the Sturmprinz. The new Mille GTS Sturmprinz S11 arrives alongside a new women’s jacket, the Equipe R Hydra S11. Two rain jackets, two approaches: a hardshell cut for long distances on one side, a close-fitting softshell for riding fast through a downpour on the other.
The Sturmprinz returns with an ATLANTIS membrane
On its product page, Assos recalls that the original Sturmprinz was, according to the brand, “a legend” among amateurs and pros alike, a jacket that did not compromise on weight, protection or breathability. The S11 version is built on the ATLANTIS fabric, a waterproof and windproof three-layer membrane for which the brand claims a breathability rating of 42,900 g/m²/24h.
This fabric covers the front panel, the sides, the shoulders and the leading edge of the sleeves, the areas that take rain and wind head-on. The back switches to CORE Light softshell, while the hem and cuffs are made of AVANTGARDE, a coated, highly elastic fabric that seals the jacket against water ingress. Assos states a temperature range of -8 to +20 °C.

According to Assos, the GTS regularFit sits between a pure endurance fit and a close-fitting racingFit: the brand presents it as its most streamlined Mille silhouette. According to the product page, the seams are fully taped and reflective details improve visibility under overcast skies.
Equipe R Hydra: a softshell for riding fast in the rain

The Equipe R Hydra, a women’s jacket, starts from an observation the brand makes itself: for a rain jacket, according to Assos, internal moisture is almost a bigger threat than external moisture. Its answer is the three-layer HYDRA softshell, claimed at 50,900 g/m²/24h of breathability, combined with an ECO DWR treatment and taped seams.
The low-bulk construction allows the jacket, according to Assos, to be compressed to the size of a pocket accessory. Coated AVANTGARDE panels protect the hem and forearms from road spray, and a two-way zip lets you vent when the temperature rises. The close-fitting racingFit AEPD 11 was developed with feedback from the WorldTour, the brand says. Assos claims a range of +4 °C to above +21 °C for this jacket.

Two jackets, Sturmprinz and Hydra, at €490 and €330
On Assos’s French store, the Mille GTS Sturmprinz S11 is listed at €490 and the Equipe R Hydra Women’s S11 at €330, and both product pages showed them in stock on 24 September. According to those same pages, all materials are PFAS-free.
The claimed temperature ranges point to a division of roles: the Sturmprinz goes down to -8 °C, while the Hydra stops at +4 °C.
