Crankbrothers presents its new Seal shoes as designed for wet, unpredictable rides, keeping feet dry and comfortable.
Waterproof MTB shoes: membrane and high collar
Waterproofing relies on two elements. A waterproof membrane blocks the weather while letting sweat escape, and a wraparound collar, adjustable through 360°, closes around the ankle to stop water getting in. The official product page describes a quick-adjust Speed Lace closure, with a pocket to stow the laces, and single-pull lacing on both models.
Both models feature a reinforced TPU toe cap and reflective details for better visibility in low light.
Mallet or Stamp: two soles
The Mallet, for clipless pedals, uses medium-friction MC1 rubber, chosen to make clipping in and out easier, with HYDRO rubber at the toe and heel for better grip when walking on slippery ground; the official product page specifies that cleats are not included with this model. The Stamp, for flat pedals, pairs its Trail sole with HYDRO rubber, which Crankbrothers describes as its softest compound, for grip in rain, mud and damp conditions.
