IN BRIEF
Version 1.38 of Bosch’s eBike Flow app brings adjustable traction control to the Performance Line CX and CX-R motors, as well as the Cargo Line, German website eMTB-News reports. It limits motor torque to stop the rear wheel from spinning, with four levels adjustable mode by mode. eMTB-News says the update also shows the remaining charging time on the display and makes the Drivetrain Tensioner adjustable mode by mode. The app is free; seeing that charging time in the app itself requires the paid Flow+ subscription.
Bosch keeps adding to its motors through software. After the Drivetrain Tensioner in version 1.36, version 1.38 of the eBike Flow app tackles wheelspin with traction control. Specialist German website eMTB-News details its content and the date of 12 October 2026 in its table of updates.
Four-level Bosch traction control

It is the main new feature, eMTB-News writes: traction control regulates motor torque and can thus stop the rear wheel from spinning. The site specifies that it can be set to four positions, off, low, medium and high, riding mode by riding mode. The site says it is available for the Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y), the Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) and the Cargo Line (BDU384Y).
The Drivetrain Tensioner can be set mode by mode

Introduced with version 1.36, the Drivetrain Tensioner tensions the drivetrain to reduce play at the pedals and make the response more direct when you push down. Version 1.38 lets you switch it on or off in each custom mode. eMTB-News specifies that it is switched off by default in all modes, and limited to the same motors as traction control.
Remaining charging time shown on the display
As soon as the charger is plugged in, the display shows the time remaining until a full charge, in hours and minutes. eMTB-News says this works with all displays except the Intuvia 100. The same countdown appears in the app for Flow+ users equipped with the ConnectModule, a paid subscription.
The Trick Check function, introduced with version 1.34, gets its own screen; eMTB-News lists the Kiox 300, Kiox 400C, Kiox 500, Purion 200 and Purion 400, and specifies that this screen is added through the display configuration of the eBike Flow app, a function the Purion 400 does not offer with version 1.38. As with previous updates, it is delivered through the free eBike Flow app. The site notes, however, that on the morning of 13 October the new version of the app was not yet available to its author. As of 14 October, version 1.38.2 was listed on the App Store, where Bosch says traction control is available for the Performance Line CX-R, the Performance Line CX and the Cargo Line.
