Hunt is updating its 5AM Gravel Limitless wheels with wider rims, designed around 45 to 50 mm tyres.
Hunt 5AM Gravel Limitless: two rim profiles
The front and rear each have their own profile. The front rim rises to 54 mm deep with a 45 mm external width; the rear drops to 49 mm deep and 38 mm wide. Both keep a 27 mm internal width, hookless. Hunt recommends tyres from 45 to 54 mm, accepts 40 to 60 mm, and has optimised the aerodynamics for 45 to 50 mm tyres.
The pair has a claimed weight of 1,447 g, with oversized rim beds intended to limit the pinch flats that end a race. The official product page lists 24 spokes front and rear, 2-cross, with 10 mm internal nipples for aerodynamics. The H_Ratchet double-ratchet hubs offer 7.5° of engagement, run on stainless steel bearings and use Center Lock mounting. Two tubeless valves, 80 and 60 mm, are supplied.

Wind tunnel, price and warranty
Hunt claims first place in the wind tunnel: with 45 mm tyres, its 5AM Gravel Limitless proved the fastest of the 12 wheelsets tested, 0.24 W ahead of the DT Swiss GRC 50 and 0.63 W ahead of the Reserve 48|53 GR, minimal gaps that the brand publishes itself.
The steel-spoke version is listed at €2,399 on Hunt’s website. Escape Collective adds a carbon-spoke version, at €2,900 for a claimed 1,317 g. The pair is on pre-order, and the official product page states shipping in early December. Hunt backs it with a 3-year warranty for direct purchases, and the official product page describes its H_CARE programme as a free lifetime replacement in case of breakage for the first owner.
