YT Industries returns to the United States, less than a year after pulling out

Less than a year after YT Industries USA was shut down, the German brand is relaunching direct sales in the United States. Founder Markus Flossmann explains.

IN BRIEF

YT Industries is selling its bikes in the United States again. The German brand’s US site now carries a statement from its founder, Markus Flossmann, announcing this return and saying the priority is not only to sell bikes, but also to provide service and support. The previous episode had been abrupt: according to Singletracks, YT Industries USA was shut down on 1 November 2025, its showrooms in California and Arkansas closing without notice, and existing customers were left for a time without clearly guaranteed warranty cover. The outlet reports that Markus Flossmann then set up a company, Young Talent Industries GmbH, to handle service in North America — but without bikes becoming purchasable directly from the brand again until now.

When a brand sells direct, leaving a market means cutting the link that ties it to its customers. YT Industries has just restored that link in the United States.

YT Industries’ return, announced by its founder

The German brand chose to speak on its own US page, through Markus Flossmann, whom it presents as its founder, who says: “The United States has helped shape YT’s identity, and I’m excited to reconnect with our strong fan base. As we return, our priority isn’t just to sell bikes; it’s to deliver dependable service, responsive support, and to build a stronger connection with our US rider base.”

The wording is worth noting: it puts service before product, which, given what happened last year, looks less like a turn of phrase than an answer.

Singletracks and BikeRadar date this announcement to 21 September 2026. It comes, Singletracks notes, with “an all-new Customer Care team” — a US-based support team, also confirmed by BikeRadar. The site’s imprint also states that US sales are now concluded with a dedicated entity, YT Industries, based in Waco, Texas, separate from the European headquarters Young Talent Industries GmbH.

In practical terms, the US online store is working: its terms of sale state that prices are shown in US dollars, excluding sales tax calculated at checkout and excluding shipping, and the Capra enduro’s product page puts the return label fee at $125. In other words, the sales and returns logistics for the United States are in place, not merely announced.

What had happened in late 2025

The background is reported by Singletracks, which has followed the story. According to the US outlet, YT’s German business continued during the restructuring, but on 1 November 2025 it became clear that YT Industries USA would be shut down. The brand’s showrooms in California and Arkansas closed abruptly, and for a time it was impossible to know whether existing YT customers would have access to warranty support.

Also according to Singletracks, Jenson USA began shortly afterwards to sell off YT bikes at heavily slashed prices — again with questions over how warranties would be handled, if at all.

In mid-November, the same outlet reports, Markus Flossmann announced he had set up a new company, Young Talent Industries GmbH. A YT representative confirmed at the time that it would provide service for North American customers — while the bikes themselves remained unavailable for direct purchase from the brand until this return.

“We own our past mistakes”

YT Industries’ official relaunch press release, reported by Singletracks, contains a second statement from Markus Flossmann, absent from the brand’s public site: “Our relaunch has taken longer than anticipated, but we needed to do it right. We own our past mistakes, and with this step, I’m confident we have a solid foundation for a stronger, more reliable future that our community deserves.”

The outlet sums the affair up in a single line: YT Industries is resuming its US operations less than a year after stopping them. For YT owners left with no one to turn to for months, it is the “dependable service” and “responsive support” part of the founder’s statement that will be judged, and it will not be measurable for several seasons.
